Techtium Rolls Out TEC103 Solar Application

Tel Aviv-based Techtium Ltd., a mixed-signal semiconductor company that specializes in battery and power management ICs, has reportedly announced a new solar application called TEC103 that acts like a synchronous boost converter and optimal Li-Ion charge controller.
The new power conversion solution is designed for portable solar applications such as mobile phones, handheld solar chargers, Bluetooth headsets and Bluetooth car-kits. It converts power with highest efficiency of up to 85 percent from low level input voltages of a single photo-voltaic (solar) cell at about 0.4v to a Li-Ion / Li-Pol battery voltages at about 3.7v.
